BrokerMate, step by step

BrokerMate collects your borrowers’ documents on a page with your brand, sorts them into a checklist, works out their qualifying income, emails you the result and sends the file to Finmo once you approve it.

How it works

Six steps, from your brand to Finmo

  1. Step 1: Set up your brand

Pick your colours, add your photo and contact details, and watch your borrower page change in the live preview as you go.

BrokerMate settings, step 1 of 5: colour themes on the left and a live preview of the Tidewell Home Finance upload page on the right.
Sample data. Fictional people and companies.
  2. Step 3: Borrowers upload from any device

Borrowers say what the mortgage is for, add everyone applying and their income, then upload files or take photos on their phone. No account, in English or French.

The Tidewell Home Finance upload page: “Buying a home” selected and the applicant’s name and email filled in.
Sample data. Fictional people and companies.
  3. Step 4: Every file lands in the right place

BrokerMate reads each file and sorts it into the checklist for the right applicant, so everyone can see what’s in and what’s still missing.

The document checklist for a fictional applicant: a letter of employment and a pay stub, each marked “Sorted automatically”.
Sample data. Fictional people and companies.
  4. Step 5: You get an email with the answer

When a borrower submits, you get an email with their qualifying income, the files that came in and what’s still missing, and buttons to send it to Finmo or ask for more. It tells you when the client already has a Finmo deal. With Pro, it also lists the lenders where the income comes out higher. Indicative, not a lender decision.

Review email: new application from Marisol Okafor, already in Finmo. Qualifying income $86,400.00 under the standard lender rules, $91,200.00 at Lender B and $89,000.00 at Lender C. Five renamed files received, photo ID and purchase agreement missing. Buttons to sync to the existing Finmo deal or create a new one, each with or without documents, and to ask for documents.
Sample data. Fictional people and companies.
  5. Step 6: Review, then send to Finmo

Connect your Finmo account once. You check the file and approve it, and BrokerMate sends the application and documents to your Finmo deal. Nothing goes to Finmo until you approve it.

BrokerMate settings, step 3 of 5: connecting a Finmo account, with the token, team and broker fields empty.
Sample data. Fictional people and companies.

Who does what

A few minutes for your borrower, a few clicks for you

Your borrower

  • Says what the mortgage is for and adds everyone applying.
  • Picks their income sources to get their document checklist.
  • Uploads files or takes photos, then submits.

You

  • Shares the link with each new borrower.
  • Gets an email when documents arrive.
  • Reviews the file and sends it to Finmo.

Questions

Do borrowers need an account?

No. They open your link on their phone or computer, fill in a few details and upload. There’s nothing to install.

What can borrowers upload?

PDFs and photos (JPG, PNG, WebP or iPhone HEIC), up to 50 MB per file and 25 files per submission. On a phone they can take a photo straight from the page.

Does it work in French?

Yes. The upload page is in English and French, borrowers can switch at the top, and visitors in Québec start in French.

Where do the documents go?

Each submission is delivered to your document storage as its own package, named for its applicants. You open or download it from your BrokerMate workspace.

Can anything reach Finmo without me?

No. You review the file and approve it first. BrokerMate only sends to Finmo when you do.
